When people think of hospices, they automatically think it’s about death. At St Barnabas, it couldn’t be further from that.

It’s helping people to live well whilst they’re here – with personal, genuine care. St Barnabas feels like a family, and I work with amazing people on a daily basis. It’s a compassionate, kind organisation which puts people at the centre of everything and this includes staff. The way staff are valued and supported is absolutely outstanding. The values really are lived throughout the whole organisation.

A range of roles for thousands of people

In 1979, the charity was established by a local team, dedicated to ensuring that Lincolnshire had a Hospice to be proud of. By providing high quality care to patients, families and carers, their aim was to enable people to live their lives as fully as possible.

Over the last four decades, the range of services we provide has grown, but our vision and mission have never changed. We rely on our amazing staff, volunteers and supporters to make this happen. Our services include:

  • 24/7 specialist nursing care
  • Emotional, spiritual, and bereavement support for patients and families
  • Welfare and benefits advice
  • Exercise, creative therapy, and social groups in our Wellbeing Centres

St Barnabas Hospice employs over 300 members of paid staff, and around 1,000 volunteers. Every role contributes to our mission – from direct patient care to the teams who fundraise, manage operations, or keep our 23 charity shops running. Through hard work and dedication, we are able to continue providing care free of charge across Lincolnshire.
