Improve your Physical Wellbeing
People with a life-limiting or terminal illness may find that due to long periods of inactivity, joints can become stiff or it may hurt to perform basic tasks.
To help combat this, we can offer physiotherapy and occupational therapy, as well as exercise classes.
Benefits of these sorts of therapies can include:
- Improved pain management
- Reducing anxiety
- Management of breathlessness
- Improving sleep
- Managing fatigue
- Improvement in deteriorated function as a result of illness or treatment (e.g. surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy).
We also offer relaxation therapies and gentle exercise classes including tai chi which many of our attendees find improves their mobility, as well as their mental health.
If you would like to discuss physical therapies and how they could help you, please ring our Palliative Care Coordination Centre on 0300 020 0694.
Don’t grieve in isolation, call the St Barnabas Bereavement Helpline.
