On Thursday 6th November, a sold-out Lock-in event took place at St Barnabas’ flagship charity shop, The Warehouse, in Lincoln, with over £15,000 of income generated on the night.
The evening saw over 250 sustainable shoppers purchase tickets for this exclusive experience, enjoying a complimentary cocktail made with St Barnabas gin or rum, and loaded brownie from local dessert specialists, Sinple Treats.
More than 2,000 items were sold and saved from landfill, raising vital funds to support St Barnabas’ mission to bring high-quality, compassionate, and dignified care to those who need it in Lincolnshire.
Caroline Peach, Head of Retail at St Barnabas Hospice, says: “It was such a wonderful event! We are so pleased to have hosted the lock-in for the fourth time, and to have achieved record-breaking results. A huge thank you to everyone who came along – it was amazing to see so many eco-conscious shoppers making the most of the incredible bargains available on the night.
“Over the weekend, we saw these figures skyrocket up to £30,000 of income generated, with an additional 3,000 items sold from Friday to Sunday. The funds raised will play a vital role in supporting our hospice during an increasingly challenging financial time.”
During the Warehouse’s fourth public Lock-in, shoppers were able to browse from a high-quality selection of vintage games and retro music on vinyl, designer clothes and unique homewares.
Not only that, but a wide selection of brand-new items with tags were available and supporters were able to take an early look at The Warehouse’s Christmas stock.
Caroline continues: “We still have lots of great finds available in The Warehouse. From unique gift sets and homeware to cosy puzzles, games and books, there’s plenty of choice to help you shop sustainably this Christmas.
“Now more than ever, people are looking at budgeting for the festive season. Buying stocking fillers and Christmas presents at our charity shops is a fantastic way to save money, pick up unique items, do your bit for the environment and support our cause all at once.”
