St Barnabas Hospice has been providing a valuable house clearance service to the people of Lincolnshire for over a year
In December 2016, St Barnabas Hospice launched their house clearance service, with the aim of helping members of the public who were struggling to cope with the scale of clearing a house.
Since its launch, the service has helped to fully or partially clear 208 houses across Lincolnshire. Many customers have found it invaluable during a period of time in which a loved one has died. It has given them one less worry during what can be a very difficult and emotional time.
Mr and Mrs Beckett have used the St Barnabas house clearance service on two occasions. They said:
“The St Barnabas staff have been quite superb two difficult occasions. They have helped us immensely and we cannot speak highly enough of them. The attitude shown by them and the ‘can do’ approach has been fantastic.”
Mr Reep, another St Barnabas house clearance customer, added:
“Staff at St Barnabas were extremely helpful, polite and most of all understood the situation. Although the situation for me was upsetting, they made it a lot easier to deal with.”
The Hospice offers a full house clearance, which includes the packaging and removal of all saleable items, recycling of un-saleable items and clearance of lofts, garages and sheds. Each clearance will be priced according to individual requirements and for an additional fee, the charity will provide a cleaning service.
St Barnabas also offers a partial house clearance service, where the team assesses a property for saleable items and then arranges a convenient time for the safe removal of these.
The money raised from the house clearance service is vital in helping the Hospice to care for and support more people across Lincolnshire living with a life-limiting or terminal illness, and their families and carers.
Dane Jakins, Logistics Manager at St Barnabas, said:
“Our house clearance team are professionally trained staff and volunteers who will clear properties of any size with the care and respect they deserve. People can rest assured that their possessions will be well looked after by the team.
“We have 26 charity shops across Lincolnshire where we will sell all saleable items. Everything else will be recycled, where possible.
