St Barnabas Hospice to open second Warehouse store in Grantham

1st May 2026

Plans to open a St Barnabas Warehouse store in Grantham are underway, relocating from the current shop on Welby Street.

After a wonderful 16 years at the charity’s current location in Welby Street, the Hospice is thrilled to announce an exciting move to new premises on Dysart Road, opposite Dysart Retail Park.

The Warehouse is currently undergoing renovations with plans to open to shoppers, donors, and volunteers late July 2026. The repurposed building will offer customers a fantastic pre-loved shopping experience, with an easy drop-off point for donated items.

This move is following the success of St Barnabas Hospice’s Lincoln Warehouse, the first of its kind for the charity retail sector, which opened its doors in 2022. During its first four years, the Lincoln Warehouse sold over 580,000 items, raised £2.1 million, and recycled 233 tonnes out of landfill.

Caroline Peach, Head of Retail at St Barnabas, said: “We are so excited to welcome new and long-standing shoppers to the new warehouse. In this new location, we’ll be able to receive more donations, welcome more shoppers, and have more items for sale.

“With this in mind, we hope to raise more vital funds for hospice care in the local community, including supporting the Hospice in the Hospital in Grantham.

“We created the first Warehouse in Lincoln to capitalise on the success of our charity shops across the county, and to create a destination retail experience for our already generous supporters. The last few years have proven that it’s successful, and we’re looking to replicate this in Grantham.”

The hospice is so grateful to everyone who has supported the charity by shopping and donating items in Grantham. The Welby Street shop will remain open until the new Warehouse has been refurbished and opens to the public. St Barnabas encourages locals in Grantham to continue to support the Hospice by visiting their new premises.

The shop will continue to stock a range of donated items, including everything from vintage, retro, designer, and high street clothing, books, and unique homeware.

During the 2025-6 financial year, St Barnabas charity shops across the county kept 351 tonnes of textiles, shoes, bags, books, and household items out of landfill. 1.06 million items were sold across the charity shops in Lincolnshire and 22,000 items of clothing were sold at half price or lower.

The official opening date is yet to be announced. Lincoln Area Manager, Grace Cook adds that the opening of the bigger store in Grantham creates more exciting volunteer opportunities.

Grace says: “We’d love to hear from local people who would like to join our team. Volunteering is a great way to meet people, gain valuable skills, and give back to your community. Every hour donated by a volunteer saves us money that can be redirected to patient care. By giving your time, you help ensure that hospice care remains free and available to everyone who needs it.

“Volunteering in a shop is a fun and social way to make a difference. Tasks include sorting and pricing donations, helping with creating visual displays, assisting customers, or working on the till.”

St Barnabas has a range of charity shops across Lincolnshire, varying from small high street shops to vast spaces. In each shop you can find thousands of pre-loved, quality items, including clothing, homeware, books, crafts, and toys – this is only possible because of volunteers and supporters who donate their goods.

By shopping with St Barnabas, each purchase contributes to free, compassionate palliative and end-of-life care to adults in Lincolnshire.
