Donate your items to St Barnabas Hospice
St Barnabas has a range of charity shops across Lincolnshire, varying from small high street shops to vast spaces. In each shop you can find thousands of pre-loved, quality items, including clothing, homeware, books, crafts, and toys. Our flagship store, The Warehouse, also offers furniture and other large items.
By donating your items to our charity shops, you will help us in our mission to provide vital care and support to people across Lincolnshire who are living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.

How to donate your items
All our shops gratefully accept high-quality donations of pre-loved items. However, at times your local shop may occasionally have to refuse or limit certain types of donations for short periods. To avoid disappointment, we recommend giving your local shop a quick call before you come, just to check they can take donations that day.
You only need to pre-book if you’re donating to The Warehouse on Cardinal Close, Lincoln. For all other shops, just bag or box up your donations and bring them in – we’ll gratefully accept up to three bags or boxes at a time.
Your items will not be taken if they are left outside.
To protect our staff and volunteers, and due to health and safety regulations, we are unable to take in items that have been left outside our shops. If the shop is closed when you visit, please return when the shop is open to donate your items.
Please be aware of bogus door-to-door bag collections, as we do not collect this way.

We operate an online Book and Bring service for the ‘The Warehouse’ on Cardinal Close, Lincoln, LN2 4SY. Donations to The Warehouse must be booked in advance through Book and Bring.
What is the Book and Bring process?
- Once you have booked your slot, please place all your items in bags and boxes for easy donation. We will be unable to give these bags and boxes back.
- You can arrive at The Warehouse at any point during your allocated slot.
- Simply park up outside in one of the parking spaces available. Head into The Warehouse to confirm your slot at the till with a member of staff and drop off your donations.

Gift Aid is a government initiative where for every £1 we generate in sales in our shops, St Barnabas can claim an extra 25p from HMRC at no extra cost to the customer.
When you drop off donations, let us know you would like to participate. We just need a quick minute to set this up and it really helps your generous donations go even further.
What can I donate?
We accept good quality, pre-loved donated items to our charity shops across Lincolnshire. The items we can take are:
- Books – in good condition
- Clothes for men, women and children – especially retro/vintage/bridal/eveningwear
- Shoes and handbags
- Clothing accessories (including ties, belts and jewellery)
- Bric a Brac and household items: bedding, curtains etc
- CDs, DVDs and vinyl LPs
- Children’s toys, games and baby equipment
- Furniture and small electrical items such as kettles, lamps, stereos etc
- Foreign coins, stamps, old mobile phones
Please note that not all our shops can accept electronic goods, due to health and safety regulations. To avoid any disappointment, please contact your local shop ahead of time to check if they can take your electronic items.

We’re unable to accept these items in our charity shops:
- Alcoholic drinks
- Cigarettes or any tobacco product
- Ammunition, swords, sword sticks, cross bows or other offensive weapons
- Buoyancy aids, lifejackets, inflatable dinghies, any inflatable toy for use on water
- Books, in poor condition
- Candles without instructions
- Cigarette lighters, refill canisters, ashtrays
- Cleaning agents, solvents and adhesives
- Computer hard drives
- Electric showers
- Electric blankets
- Firefighting equipment
- Fridges, freezers, or fridge freezers
- Gas appliances (mains or bottled goods)
- Guns (including replica guns unless obviously toys)
- Pushchairs and prams need a label stating it complies with British Standard 7409:1996 and have the correct fire labels ‘Carelessness Causes Fires’
- Home recorded computer games and software on recordable CDs /DVDs
- Home recorded video and audio tapes / DVDs
- Knives (other than table knives sold as part of a cutlery set)
- Medication including vitamins
- Oil heaters
- Perishable goods, food and drink
- Personal appliances, e.g. electric shavers, unless in sealed box
- Power tools without safety instructions
- Prescription spectacles
- Real fur or fur trimmed products
- Safety harnesses of any sort
- Safety helmets – riding hats, crash helmets, cycle helmets
- Sunbeds and tanning equipment
- Upholstered items without fire labels, e.g. beds/mattresses, padded headboards, upholstered dining chairs and footstools, etc.
- Waste disposal units
