Join St Barnabas Hospice at the grand opening of their Working Garden and refreshment facilities
On Tuesday 25th September from 12-2pm, join St Barnabas Hospice at their Day Therapy Centre in Louth for the official opening of their new ‘Working Garden’ and refreshment facilities. This is located at Grimsby Road, LN11 0SX.
The Working Garden has been created to celebrate the horticultural and agricultural heritage of Lincolnshire. This garden, inclusive to all who wish to enjoy it, includes a potting shed area, raised vegetable beds and seating area to relax in.
With the help of Lincolnshire Co-op, many volunteers came together to help transform the St Barnabas garden as part of the ‘Big Co-op Clean.’
Amy Bailey, Community Fundraiser at St Barnabas Hospice, said:
“We are extremely grateful for all the hard work which volunteers put into the garden this summer. Having access to this outdoor space is really important to the health and wellbeing of our patients, and we are so proud of what has been accomplished.
“We’re welcoming the public into our Louth Day Therapy Centre on 25th September so that they can see first-hand how the garden has been transformed, as well as letting them take a tour of the Day Therapy facilities we have in Louth.”
In addition to the outdoor improvements in Louth, St Barnabas has also introduced refreshment facilities in the main reception area. There is a dedicated seating area to relax in, and food and drink readily available to all staff, volunteers and visitors.
Amy said:
“We are always looking to improve the services we can offer to our patients and their families and carers, and are delighted at the positive feedback we have received so far about these changes.
“I would encourage those who are curious about the services St Barnabas offers to visit our Day Therapy Centre and learn more about the work we do in the local community.”
