St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice appeals to the local business community for new headline sponsor

St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice are appealing for a new title sponsor for their eighth Moonlight Sleepwalk which this year is themed as ‘One Night in a Onesie’. This year the annual event in Lincoln will attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing onesies.

Last year 1,000 took part in the Moonlight Sleepwalks across the county and together raised over £55,000. This year, St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, are hoping to attract in excess of 1,300 participants to help raise over £80,000.

The charity is appealing for a new headline sponsor from a local Lincolnshire Business. The sponsor will become synonymous with St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice and be promoted on all printed and online marketing materials, street banners and commemorative gifts given out to participants on the night.

Veronica Brien, Fundraising Manager for St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice said: “One Night in a Onesie is a fun and vibrant event that will bring the whole community together, whether it’s because you’ve been touched by the care the Hospice delivers or you simply want to support a local cause, we promise it will be a night to remember.”

The event will take place on Saturday 7th June 2014 at Yarborough Leisure Centre based on Riseholme Road. People who are unable to take part in the record breaking attempt in Lincoln are urged to join in with one of the other onesie walks taking place on the same night in Grantham, Boston and Louth.

Veronica Brien said: “We are extremely grateful for any support local businesses give as this means we can continue to host these events at very little cost to the charity, whilst ensuring the funds raised from the events go directly to providing the care and support that we do.

“Coming on board as the headline sponsor is a wonderful opportunity for a business to engage with the local community whilst demonstrating their corporate social responsibility strategy and enhancing their overall brand. Becoming affiliated with St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice will allow a sponsor to communicate with a diverse audience county-wide whilst benefiting from coverage on the night of the event and leading up to it.”
