Local independent charity gets a boost of over £12,000 from their fifth annual It’s a Knockout fundraiser.

St Barnabas Lincolnshire hospice has raised in excess of £12,000 from their It’s a Knockout fundraiser which saw 140 competitors go head to head around the slippery obstacle course.

Fourteen teams took part in the family fun day which was held at Washingborough Playing Fields on Sunday 12th July.

Becky Otter, Event Manager for St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, said:

“I am absolutely delighted to reveal that this years It’s a Knockout is our most successful to date. The amount of money raised was phenomenal and it was heart-warming to see so many people turn out to show their support.

“It was our intention that this years It’s a Knockout would be our last. However due to popular demand we have decided to bring it back next year, although we have no definite date yet.”

Teams included the YMCA, Deans Sport and Leisure, Running Imp International, NMB Minebea UK, Western Power, AM2 Architects and Your Print Partner who battled it out in costumes on carnival themed inflatables.

Becky Otter said:

“I am immensely proud of all our competitors who donated their time and raised money for our hospice. Their willingness to take part entertained the crowds and helped to make a real difference to our patients and their families.

“My sincerest gratitude also goes to all of the volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the event was a huge success.”

Anyone interested in next years It’s a Knockout are encouraged to go online to: www.stbarnabashospice.co.uk where the date will be confirmed.
