The 28th of September saw a wonderfully successful evening for St Barnabas Hospice, who hosted their farewell and auction of the remaining The HeART Trail HeARTs at the Lincoln Museum (formally The Collection).

After a celebratory evening, all of the remaining twelve HeARTs went under the hammer, pushing the total raised to an astounding £150,000 from corporate sponsorship and the auction last night. The money raised will go directly to St Barnabas, helping to care for people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses across Lincolnshire.

The auction was hosted on the final evening on the HeART Reunion exhibition which was hosted by Lincoln Museum from 14th until 28th September. The evening marked a triumphant farewell to The HeART trail, in which campaign partners, sponsors, artists, local individuals and St Barnabas staff and volunteers came together in support of the cause.

All the HeARTs were originally crafted by both local and national artists to form The HeART Trail, which provided a summer of fun for individuals and families across Lincolnshire, whilst raising awareness of the hospice.

From Saturday 10th June until Monday 4th September, the thirty wonderful heart-shaped sculptures were available to view all around the county, including in Lincoln, the East Coast and the five towns in which St Barnabas has a Wellbeing Centre.

Caroline Swindin, Head of Fundraising and Lottery at St Barnabas Hospice, says: “Thank you so much for everyone’s support, not only at the auction but throughout the entirety of the HeART Trail, we really appreciate it.

“We are so pleased to announce that all the heARTs have now sold, and we cannot wait for their proud owners to share them pictured in their forever homes across social media.

“The total raised throughout the entire campaign will undoubtably make a huge difference to the people we support throughout Lincolnshire, and we are thrilled to have hit the £150,000 target”.

St Barnabas gives thanks to the Lincoln Museum for hosting the auction, and to HeART Trail sponsors Brown& Co JHWalter for running the evening’s bidding, the Cross Keys Stow for providing canapes, and Tipsy Imp for providing the auction’s drinks reception.
