Wing Walk 2024

By working alongside The Wing Walk Company, we are able to deliver this fearsome yet exhilarating opportunity of a lifetime! Make 2024 the year where you tick wing walking off your bucket list and take on a challenge for St Barnabas Hospice, to raise vital funds for local palliative care!

When and where is it taking place?

If you choose to join us for this exciting challenge, your wing walk will take place on Saturday 22^nd June 2024 at Wickenby Airfield, Langworth, Lincoln, LN3 5AX.

You will be required to arrive at Wickenby Airfield for 9:45am.

Who can wing walk?

• You must be aged between 18 and 80.
• The maximum weight is 85kgs (13st 4lb – with clothes & shoes on). On the day of your flight, you will not be able to take part if you exceed this limit and there will be a £200 re-booking fee which would be payable by the individual signed up, not St Barnabas Hospice.
• a maximum height of 6ft 2inches (189cm).
• You will be required to sign a declaration of fitness at the briefing.

If you suffer from high blood pressure, epilepsy, fainting, blackouts, dizziness, heart or lung disease you cannot participate. If your medical condition is being managed, you may be able to participate and should discuss this with your GP/Consultant and provide proof of this before you fly.

What does it cost?

Option 1 – FUNDRAISING

If you select the ‘fundraising’ option, you agree to pay a £99 non-refundable fee and raise a minimum of £675 to participate in the Wing Walk Challenge. £420 of these monies will be used to pay for your Wing Walk Challenge and £354 will go towards Hospice care.

Option 2 – SELF-FUNDED

If you select the ‘self-funded’ option, you agree to pay a £420 non-refundable fee and raise a minimum of £355 to participate in the Wing Walk Challenge. £420 of these monies will be used to pay for your Wing Walk Challenge and £355 will go towards Hospice care.

Once you are registered, we will support you all the way up to and including the event itself.

How will your support help us?

Your sponsorship money will make a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire who are living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. You will be helping to ensure that St Barnabas Hospice can care for more patients and families in Lincolnshire, every day of the year.

By way of example, every £19.93 raised will enable us to provide one hour of specialist at-home care to a patient living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
