St Barnabas Hospice Christmas tree recycling service raises thousands to help fund end of life care in Lincolnshire

St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice’s Christmas tree recycling service was a great success with over 500 trees recycled and raised over £4,800.

The trees were collected on Saturday 7th January from Lincoln in LN1, LN2, LN3 and parts of LN4, LN5 and LN6 and then recycled with Continental Landscapes, TJS Tree Services and Taylors Tree Services.

Laura Stones, Event Fundraiser for St Barnabas Hospice, said:

“I am absolutely delighted by the amount of money raised and from the support of our local community who chose to have their trees recycled. This is the second year we have run this service and we have seen demand grow by 257%.

“A huge thank you must also go to our local business community who donated their time and vans to collect the trees on our behalf. Their support really was pivotal to the success of this service.”

The service was supported by Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Group Together, Lincoln Fight Factory Wrestling and Washingborough Scouts Group.

Laura said: “The money raised from this service will help the Hospice to continue caring for terminally ill people across Lincolnshire. We will be running this service next year and hope to raise even more money to support our care.”
