Running the St Barnabas Inflatable Colour Dash

Friends and family members of Lisa Zealand have come together to raise money in her memory by running the St Barnabas Inflatable Colour Dash

On Saturday 12th May, a large group of friends and family members will be joining together at the St Barnabas Inflatable Colour Dash to raise money in memory of Lisa Zealand.

At just age 43, Lisa was diagnosed in September 2017 with terminal liver cancer, and had only six weeks to spend with friends and family before she sadly died on 2nd November 2017.

Linda Stapleton, Lisa’s friend, said:

“I thought it would be a good idea to gather Lisa’s family and friends together to take part in this year’s Inflatable Colour Dash in her memory, as St Barnabas is a charity which Lisa supported personally, as well as in her working role.

“She worked as a Carers Assessor and Support Worker for the City of Lincoln Council, where she recommended St Barnabas Hospice to the carers which she supported.

“Lisa took part in the St Barnabas Colour Dash in 2014, and the collection at her funeral was also donated to the Hospice.”

Included in the friends and family members taking part in memory of Lisa are her husband, Leslie, and her five-year-old daughter, Isla.

Linda said:

“Lisa was a fun loving person and loved spending time with her many friends and family. She would definitely have approved of us all coming together in her memory to raise money for her favourite charity.

“Lisa didn’t use the St Barnabas Hospice services in the six weeks following her diagnosis, but I know she would be so proud that we are following in her footsteps and raising money for such a worthy cause.”
