Local Hospice is hosting family fun day in Lincoln

3rd July 2017

St Barnabas Hospice is holding this year’s It’s A Knockout at Washingborough Playing Fields, and inviting locals to come and enjoy the day

Now in its seventh year, ‘It’s a Knockout’ promises to be the biggest one yet, with teams of 10 taking on the inflatable challenge at Washingborough Playing Fields on 16th July 2017.

The ‘It’s a Knockout’ event is inspired by the famous TV game show, and features wacky challenges, giant inflatables and various water pools.

Starting at 12pm, spectators can visit various stalls, water zorbing, a bouncy castle, giant inflatable slides, face painting and a BBQ alongside the big event! Eskimoo and Daisy Made Ice Cream will be available on the day, as well as a special appearance from Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Both entry and parking are free for all spectators, but car sharing is suggested due to limited parking spaces. There are 18 teams taking part in the main event, which will be split into two games.

There are several local businesses entering a team this year, including Cooke & Mason, Hodgkinson’s Solicitors, Siemens, Starglaze Windows, Lincoln Waterside Centre, Lincoln Baby Business, and Redrock Partnership Ltd. As well as this, St Barnabas is entering their very own team, with CEO, Chris Wheway, as Captain!

Laura Stones, Events Fundraiser for St Barnabas Hospice, said:

“We have a whole host of teams lined up, ready to entertain you. It will certainly be as much fun to watch as it will be for the people taking part!

“Thanks to all the local businesses who are getting involved, there will be loads for spectators to do, and it will definitely be a fun-filled family day out.”

“We hope to raise in excess of £15,000 from the day!”

St Barnabas Hospice have decided to bring back the popular ‘Children’s Challenge’ after the main event. Children will be able to compete on the giant inflatables on the day for only £5. There is no need to register in advance for this – just turn up on the day.
