Lincolnshire hospice to host third annual sponsored yogathon

Last years outdoor yogathon event at Barrowby Road in Grantham

Local independent charity calls for the local community to join them at their outdoor fitness event.

On Saturday 12th September, from 9.30am – 12.30pm, St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice will be hosting a sponsored yogathon at their Day Therapy Centre on Barrowby Road in Grantham.

The event has been organised in partnership with local yoga teacher Stefan Cunnington who will be guiding participants through the program to achieve a full 108 sun salutations. Stefan will also be joined by Yoga teacher Marion Field who will offer participants a more gentle approach.

Stefan said:

“We will keep a flexible approach to the event with some adaptations and plenty of breaks for those who may be new to this type of activity. It would be great to see some new faces along this year and as always I’m pleased to support this worthy cause.”

The sponsored yogathon will take two to three hours to complete and people of all yoga abilities are encouraged to take part.

Janie McCormick, Event Organiser for St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, said:

“Each year our yogathon has grown in popularity and last year we raised an incredible £1,577.00. We are hoping to exceed that target this year and raise even more money for hospice care in Grantham.”

Registration for the event is £10 per person and includes a picnic lunch, onsite sports massage and bottled water.

Participants are asked to sign up online at or call Janie McCormick on 01476 591 010.
