Lovely St Barnabas cake made by a supporter for our Louth Hospice

St Barnabas Hospice are set to host a BIG Birthday Bake coffee morning in Gainsborough to celebrate the Hospice turning 35

On Thursday 12th October from 10am-12pm, St Barnabas is inviting supporters from the Gainsborough area to their BIG Birthday Bake coffee morning, to celebrate providing 35 years of hospice care throughout Lincolnshire.

The coffee morning will be held at St Barnabas Hospice, George Henderson Lodge, Front Street, Morton, DN21 3AD. The George Henderson Lodge provides community hospice services to patients and their families and carers living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.

Caroline Swindin, Corporate Fundraiser for St Barnabas, said:

“It is always lovely to see the Hospice bustling with lots of visitors and everyone is very welcome; so please do join us at our BIG Birthday Bake coffee morning to celebrate our 35th birthday.

“Bring friends and family to support the good work of St Barnabas in the West Lindsey area, for a morning of coffee and cakes, plus a chance to enjoy a slice of birthday cake!

“We’re challenging you to help us, by bringing in cake donations. Our aim is to have 35 different types of cakes available throughout the morning.

“St Barnabas Hospice will also be hosting a stall full of wonderful giftware, bric-a-brac, books and a raffle with all proceeds going directly to hospice care.”

This coffee morning is taking place during National Hospice Care Week, and provides a great opportunity for members of the public to come and look around their local Hospice and find out what hospice care means to so many in the local community.

Each year across the UK, 200,000 terminally ill people receive hospice care. From nurses to volunteers, chefs to chaplains and corporate partners to carers, this awareness week will celebrate the contribution of everyone involved in hospice care.

The huge range of support provided by St Barnabas includes medical care, wellbeing therapies such as massage, emotional support such as counselling and volunteer-led support, including befriending.
