John James was my dad. A cheerful character who was a talented refrigeration engineer. He designed and installed an air conditioning system into a Volvo car in the 1970’s.

Harry James was my grandad. A finer gentleman you wouldn’t wish to meet. A Nottingham lad who settled with in Lincolnshire after his retirement. He was a true mentor.

Every life deserves to be celebrated

As you can see, St Barnabas offer a lots of ways for patients’ families to remember a loved one such as our online tribute pages, walking with us at the Torchlight Procession each Christmas and our Ironwork display. We also have reflection space available in our Inpatient Unit gardens and therapeutic outdoor space in our Wellbeing Centres, where families are welcome to use to reflect and remember loved ones

One of the most personal ways to honour a loved one is to share a few words that capture who they were — a memory, a quality you admired, or simply their name. Whether it’s a single sentence or a heartfelt message, your dedication becomes a lasting tribute.
