Contemporary choir hosts concert in aid of local Hospice

26th October 2017

BeVox are set to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice through a pop and rock concert held in Lincoln.

On Sunday 26th November, local choir, BeVox, will host a pop and rock concert at the Engine Shed in Lincoln to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice. Doors are set to open at 3.30pm, with the concert beginning at 4pm.

The concert features 150 singers performing classic rock and pop hits from the likes of Aerosmith, Elton John, The Beatles, Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera.

BeVox is a contemporary choir which has performed across Lincoln, Nottingham and Sheffield for the past seven years. They regularly host sell-out concerts at the Lincolnshire Showground, and have recently held a successful ‘Let Us Entertain You’ event at the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre.

Tim Allen, Musical Director at BeVox, said:

“Our choir members have a voice in everything we do, so we asked them which charity we should support with our ‘Rock the Engine Shed’ concert. There was overwhelming support for St Barnabas Hospice.

“So many of our singers have had family members who have been supported by St Barnabas, and it is clearly a cause which is dear to their hearts.

“We are hoping to make a sizeable donation to St Barnabas Hospice from the funds raised by the concert.”

Over the past seven years, BeVox have successfully raised over £60,000 for various local and national charities.

Harriet Hickin, Community Fundraiser for St Barnabas, said:

“We are thrilled that BeVox has chosen us as their fundraising charity for this concert, and are hopeful that it will raise some much needed money for our Hospice.

“BeVox are well known for their fantastic performances that really challenge the traditional view of what a choir should be, and I know lots of people are excited to attend this event.”

St Barnabas Hospice supports more than 9,000 people each year, delivering free, high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care and support to adults with a life-limiting or terminal illness, and their family and carers. Each year, they must raise over £5.5 million to continue providing this support and care to the people of Lincolnshire.

Tickets for the concert are priced at £10 – £15 depending on seat location. To book tickets, visit www.bevox.co.uk/tickets and for more information, call Harriet Hickin on 01522 540 300 or email [email protected].
