Light up a Life
Dedicate a light in memory of a loved one.
Let’s honour their lives together.
We are proud to mark 26 years of our Light up a Life appeal.
Every donation for a light allows patients to receive compassionate end-of-life care, and families to receive bereavement support during the most difficult times.
We invite you to dedicate a light this Christmas, and allow someone’s memory to shine brightly on our Tree of Life outside Lincoln Cathedral.
You can remember anyone, not just those cared for by St Barnabas Hospice. As a thank you, we will send a Christmas card and two memory tags, to hang on the Tree of Life and to display in your own home.
Our Tree of Life will be illuminated during the festive period, and officially switched on at our Torchlight Procession.

Wendy’s story
After an incredible 50-year career in nursing, St Barnabas nurse Wendy is preparing to retire – marking the end of a career dedicated to supporting people through some of life’s most challenging moments.
As she reaches this milestone, Wendy will be taking a moment to remember the people who have meant the most to her throughout her life.
Dedicate a lightYour donation helps make special moments possible.
“After 50 years of nursing, I’ll be retiring this November. I’ll be dedicating a light to my parents, and I’d love you to join me in remembering someone special.
I once supported a patient whose wish was to get married before he died. We were there with him on his wedding day, and everything went beautifully. He achieved what he wanted, and that will always stay with me.
For £34, you can dedicate a light in memory of someone special this Christmas. Your donation will help give nurses like me the time to be there for patients and families when it matters most.” — Wendy, Staff Nurse
