Epilepsy Awareness & Buccal Midazolam Administration

Course Overview

This course provides a comprehensive overview of epilepsy and equips participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise and manage seizures safely, including the administration of buccal midazolam. The course follows the Epilepsy Nurses Association Best Practice Guidelines for the administration of Buccal (Oromucosal) Midazolam in community settings.

Participants will also develop practical skills in airway management and assisted ventilation using a bag-valve-mask, ensuring they can respond confidently during seizure-related emergencies.

Care staff and registered nurses who support people with epilepsy and whose responsibilities may include administering buccal midazolam.
