Accessing your information

Information about your personal treatment and care is confidential and will normally be something you will discuss with the healthcare professionals you meet. However, there may be other issues about which you would like further information, or you may just want to have a copy of the information we hold about you.

Right to request access to your personal records

The EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) Article 5 gives living individuals the right of access to personal records held about them by organisations such as St Barnabas Hospice Trust. This is known as a Subject Access Request (SAR).

GDPR requires the Trust to comply with requests for information within one month. However, this can be extended to three months if the request is complex or the Trust has received a number of requests from you. If The Trust has a need to extend this time frame, we will let you know within one month of receiving the request and explain why the extension is necessary.

Giveaway Policy

By entering a giveaway hosted on an official St Barnabas Hospice account, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

This policy covers the main hospice accounts of @stbarnabashospice on Instagram, @stbarnabaslinc on Facebook, and our shop accounts such as @stb_thewarehouse on Instagram, and @sbhcharityshops on Facebook.

    • Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over.
    • Employees of St Barnabas Hospice, their immediate families, or anyone professionally connected with the giveaway are not eligible to enter.
    • No purchase or donation is necessary to enter or win.
    • To enter, participants must follow the instructions provided in the relevant Instagram or Facebook post. This may include actions such as:
      • Following @stbarnabashospice
      • Liking the giveaway post
      • Tagging friends in the comments
      • Sharing the post or story (if required)
    • Only entries submitted via the original channel and in accordance with the instructions will be valid.
    • Multiple entries may be permitted, depending on the post’s stated rules.
    • The start and end dates for each giveaway will be clearly stated in the giveaway post.
    • Entries received after the closing date will not be counted.
    • Winners will be selected at random from all valid entries.
    • The winner(s) will be contacted via direct message from the official St Barnabas Hospice account within 48 hours of the giveaway closing.
    • If the winner does not respond within 5 working days, we reserve the right to select an alternative winner.
    • Prize(s) will be clearly stated in the giveaway post.
    • Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be offered.
    • St Barnabas Hospice reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.
    • Physical prizes will be delivered to a UK address only.
    • We aim to dispatch prizes within 14 days of the winner confirming their details.
    • Any personal data supplied during the giveaway will only be used for the administration of the giveaway and will not be shared with third parties.
    • Data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy (https://stbarnabashospice.co.uk/privacy-policy/).
    • St Barnabas Hospice accepts no responsibility for entries not received due to technical issues or Meta errors.
    • This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook, or Meta.
    • We reserve the right to amend or withdraw the giveaway at any time without notice.
    • Any attempt to manipulate or tamper with the giveaway may result in disqualification.
    • The decision of St Barnabas Hospice regarding any aspect of the giveaway is final and binding.
