To honour St Barnabas’ 35th birthday year in 2017, the St Barnabas Chief Executive and Corporate Fundraiser have taken on 35 challenges and raised £9,727 for the Hospice
Chris Wheway (Chief Executive) and Caroline Swindin (Corporate Fundraiser) have spent 2017 undertaking some amazing challenges in order to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice. Their efforts raised a total of £9,727.
Both Chris and Caroline took on a different set of challenges in 2017 – some fun, some daring and some a bit crazy!
Chris said:
“When we cycled into Paris after four days of hard work, the sense of achievement was life changing!
“Over the year I have met some amazing people who give so much to St Barnabas and work so hard, often without being given any recognition.
“As an organisation, we would not be able to support the people of Lincolnshire who are facing the end of their life, without our hugely generous supporters. I know that every pound raised will make a difference, and that will live with me forever.”
Caroline undertook her set of challenges alongside her friend, Becca Hooton. Becca wanted to fundraise for St Barnabas because she has seen first-hand the amazing care and support St Barnabas provides in the local community.
Becca said:
“This was such a wonderful opportunity to give something back to such a good cause. I’ve had so much fun doing these challenges alongside Caroline and can’t believe how generous our supporters were.”
Caroline added:
“I would like to thank every single person who sponsored us all during 2017. From friends and family to local businesses and even complete strangers, your support throughout the year really kept us going and inspired us to reach the 35 challenge target.
“Although I work for St Barnabas, it is a particularly special charity to me because my mum was cared for there before she sadly passed away.”
