The Priory Witham Academy's HeART

About this Young at HeART sculpture

This design is a ‘memorial chair’. It is a tribute to loved ones of both staff and students of the Academy who have personally experienced care from St Barnabas. It is made from recycled scaffolding boards and other recycled materials, so is environmentally friendly.

The design of the heart was inspired by Lincoln’s annual Steampunk Festival, which attracts visitors from all over the world. Year 9 students have contributed to the creation and painting of this design.

The school’s emblem is on the heart-shaped backrest and the ‘Witham Shield’, features on one of the cogs which powers the heart, as the students feel their school is the centre of our community.

There is also a nod to our beautiful Lincolnshire countryside and the internationally renowned Lincolnshire sausage. The wings have been decorated by Year 5 and 6 pupils; some have placed these in memory of someone they hold dear.

I would like to help St Barnabas reach more people near me, every day of the year.
