About this Young at HeART sculpture
This design has been created by the talented students of the Priory Ruskin Academy, and influenced by all things Lincolnshire. Structured as a competition, students designed a heart with elements of Lincolnshire they felt most relevant to them.
Students took influence from iconic Lincolnshire elements such as the Lincoln Cathedral and its imp, amazing displays by the Red Arrows, Lincolnshire sausages, the annual Lincoln steampunk festival, the Bomber Command Centre, the original tank design and Lincolnshire wildlife. All of this is tied together with elements of the beautiful Lincolnshire landscape and the colours from the Lincolnshire flag.
The heart is made of various materials, including cardboard and reinforced with plaster. Multiple artistic techniques have been used on the design, including painting, metallic components, collage details and 3D elements.
