About this Young at HeART sculpture
This design uses recycled denim due to its durability and its recognisability of being a previously used product. It is patchworked together to represent the patchwork of fields as you look across Lincolnshire, as we have such a rich, varied and important part to play in the farming history and future of the UK.
The Pembroke Academy students’ ideas include recognisable architectural features of Lincoln, along with natural features including trees, as the city has many green spaces and woodlands to explore.
The Red Arrows are represented, being another highly recognised symbol of Lincolnshire and the RAF, which is prominent in this county. Also included are the Lincolnshire flag and school logo as the Academy is very proud of both their small community and the part they play as a larger community within Lincolnshire.
