About this Young at HeART sculpture
Sir Francis Hill Primary students wanted to incorporate everything they love to do in Lincolnshire. The school’s Arts Council, set up for this project, talked about visiting the seaside, watching the Red Arrows during their practice sessions over the school playground and visiting the Lincoln Cathedral.
The design has a dream-like swirl which incorporates the Lincolnshire flag colours and the ‘Love Lincolnshire’ motto. To make it personal to the school’s Arts Council, also included are the children’s own faces as part of the design.
The students are flying the planes, looking at the Cathedral and driving the tractors through the ploughed fields. The students also love blue skies and watching the clouds as part of their mindfulness activities, it is a great way to relax and be creative. What can you see in our open skies?
