Redwood Heart

Nigel Sardeson, one of the Artists for the St Barnabas HeART Trail. Man with dark coloured top standing with life-sized sculpture of horse. by Nigel Sardeson

About the HeART

This HeART is carved from one piece of Giant Redwood timber from a Lincoln tree, which was felled because of subsidence. The wood is naturally pink and will darken with time, making it a true living sculpture.

It is embellished with a line of poetry from Lincolnshire poet – Lord Alfred Tennyson; “I am part of all that I have met” carved into it.
