Heart of the Community
About the HeART
This is the first sculpture created for the HeART Trail and it has taken on the role of our flagship heart in the run-up to the Trail’s launch.
You may have seen this HeART before! It has travelled all across Lincolnshire to promote the exciting art trail, raising awareness and inspiring people and businesses to get involved.
The St Barnabas HeART Trail is at the heart of the community, with sculptures around the county to represent the many areas where the hospice care charity provides its vital services.

About the Artist - Mel Langton
Mel Langton is a Lincoln-based freelance artist who creates both hand painted and digitally hand drawn original artwork.
She has produced colourful designs for a number of art projects throughout the city, including the Lincoln Barons’, Knights’ and Imp trails. In 2022 she was commissioned to hand paint a giant 40-piece jigsaw puzzle as part of Lincoln Creates 2022 and she has artwork on permanent display at Lincoln railway station.
