About this Young at HeART sculpture

This design featured the Dunston St Peter school’s logo and artwork created by their students, which consists of two heart-shaped images in their chosen media. The students’ hearts represent their favourite place in Lincolnshire and a sunflower.

As a small family-based school, the local community is very important to Dunston St Peter’s students and staff. The children are encouraged to embrace and love their community and the world around us.

Sadly, the school and community suffered a great loss last year as one of their members of staff, who was called the beating heart of the school, sadly passed away. She was always there for everyone, looking after and nurturing not just the children, but also the school staff and families within the village.

She was such a huge part of Dunston St Peters and with this heart, her memory is immortalised with a sculpture that symbolises her in so many ways. We will be able to display the sculpture and what it represents to our community bringing everyone together again as we come up to the anniversary. We believe this represents the love in Lincolnshire.
