About this Young at HeART sculpture
Cromwell Academy and its students believe that helping others is imperative. Though their school is in Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, far from Lincolnshire, their involvement in the Young at HeART project shows their deep sense of wanting to support those in need.
The Great North Road, the first road ever built, passes through both Lincoln and Huntingdon, and connects the two communities in spirit.
This heart’s design is based on the mesmerising art in the stain glass windows found in Lincoln Cathedral. The school’s students explored these beautiful designs and they fell in love with the patterns, colours, and textures.
Using the Lincoln Cathedral as inspiration, the result is the school’s very own heart design using a range of materials, patterns and colours to show their support for St Barnabas Hospice.
