About the HeART
This is one of two hearts commissioned by Chestnut Homes, which are similar in design but that have been tailored to their specific locations.
The Lincoln heart design combines familiar scenes from across the city, including landmarks such as Lincoln Cathedral, Bomber Command and the Red Arrows, with imagery more associated with construction. This bold and colourful design will help to gain interest from a new generation and encourage them to get involved in the career of construction.

About the Artist - Mel Langton
Mel Langton is a Lincoln-based freelance artist who creates both hand painted and digitally hand drawn original artwork.
She has produced colourful designs for a number of art projects throughout the city, including the Lincoln Barons’, Knights’ and Imp trails. In 2022 she was commissioned to hand paint a giant 40-piece jigsaw puzzle as part of Lincoln Creates 2022 and she has artwork on permanent display at Lincoln railway station.
