O – my favourite memory of GGdad is when he would.pretens to sleep in his armchair and make us jump.
T – my favourite memory of GGdad is when he would ask us to pull his finger and when we pulled it he would make a trumping noise.

My grandma collected on behalf of St Barnabas for many years prior to her sad passing. I spent the majority of my Christmas’s with her, sharing the festive day which normally ended with some games of scrabble, of course, she always won! In honour of all the work she did to help St Barnabas, I want to carry on her legacy by supporting this charity which was very close to her heart.

Remembering a very special stepdad at this time of year, we think of you everyday and you will stay forever in our hearts. This will be the first Christmas without you and it won’t seem right not writing and sending a special Christmas card to you. Your light will shine on the tree and bring us comfort as will the light on our Christmas tree. As we decorate our tree we shall be remembering you with loving affection and although it will bring a tear your light will bring us comfort. My wonderful Dad was a loving and caring Dad and Grandad. His birthday was a week before Christmas. We always made it special for him with it being so close to celebrating Christmas. He felt he missed out when he was younger! We always had a family get together – a birthday tea on the 18th December. When we were little and later when our children were small we knew it would be a week until Santa would have visited. I have wonderful memories of my Dad. He is deeply missed every day. Happy Christmas my darling Dad. Forever in our hearts.

Probably his least favourite time of year but I’m sure he’d rather be with us in his tacky Christmas waistcoat. We certainly wish he was still sat at the other end of the Christmas table for years to come.
