Christmas is not, and never will be same without him here to share it with.

Dad, our first Christmas without you, he was never one for Christmas but always enjoyed life to the full and was a true light in all our lives and all those who met him. We miss him and love him so much.

My beautiful mum lost her fight for life in lincoln st barnabus hospice on 9th Jan 2020 aged 68 with me and her son and husband by her side. I held her hand tight as she took her last breath. My mum loved Christmas, even her last Christmas which she spent with her family even though she was very poorly. She managed to make Christmas special as she always did. I have so many memories but last Christmas I remember how brave and selfless she was, putting on a brave face for us all. New year 2019 I spent in A & E with mum, not knowing 9 days later I would lose her. Even then, she managed to make us laugh and her bravery shone through. To this day I still don't know how she did it. Mum….this year, Christmas for me is all about you. Wherever you are I hope you will look down and see my tree shining brightly and find us so you can be with us in spirit. I miss you so so much and I love you with everything I have. Always and forever mummy ♥ ❤ xxxxxxxxx

Sylvia/mum/granny loved Christmas, it was her time of year! She absolutely loved the lights, festivities and family time – she would visit the tree of life every year to remember her loved ones.

A wonderful brother, uncle and brother in law. A true friend to many. Greatly missed by all who knew him. Always in our hearts and never forgotten.

Bill always used to stand outside the toilet when I was in there brushing my teeth and sing really loudly or pretend to fly like a plane with his arms in the air, he always made me laugh.

Remembering a very special stepdad at this time of year, we think of you everyday and you will stay forever in our hearts. This will be the first Christmas without you and it won’t seem right not writing and sending a special Christmas card to you. Your light will shine on the tree and bring us comfort as will the light on our Christmas tree. As we decorate our tree we shall be remembering you with loving affection and although it will bring a tear your light will bring us comfort. My dad, my hero, nothing ever got him down and even when he was receiving care from the hospice he still had the Christmas spirit wearing reindeer headband and flashing nose to “makes the nurses smile” it’s still my fav Christmas picture ever! Such beautiful happy memories it brings back! Loved and missed forever xxxxx

Wonderful memories of great times spent together. Adrenalin-fuelled planning, 'who' was coming and 'when'? Last minute shopping a certainty! The fraught stages of prep forgotten as the day filled with love, laughter, and good cheer. Remembered now with great love as that Christmas Table shrinks, albeit gradually.

Never forgotten and always loved.

My friend Brigitte is from Australia and visited Lincoln every two years when she came to England for a holiday she was very dear to me we met on holiday in Whitby in 1997 and wrote to each other sadly on my birthday this year she passed away aged 66 I’ve just found out from a family member. Brigitte thank you for many years of happiness and our strong friendship I will treasure it forever. God bless you my dear friend xx
