Mum, you passed away 20th December 2020, 2 months and 2 days after dad. We are still in shock a year on, how cruel it was that you were taken from us as well as uncle Ed and dad in the same year. Despite us being absolutely devastated we understand that you didn’t want to be separated from dad after 58 years together. The only comfort we have is knowing you are back together, side by side where you belong. We did this for dad and uncle Ed and their lights shine bright on the Christmas tree so this is for you mum.

We will remember our nanna because she helped Joe build his lego carousel last Christmas, because she made Evie two aprons, and the one with castles on it is her favourite, and for all the pennies she gave Joe and Evie every year for the advent calendars she made for them. Both men loved life and lived it to the full. They left huge holes in our families which will never be filled. They are loved and missed tremendously each and every day especially on special days. Remembered always, forgotten never.

December is a time that brings back memories of family Christmases when we were young with Mum and Dad making it all so special. Now as an adult with my own kids, we miss having them over to us to celebrate. There is too much space around the dinner table without them.
