The new Spalding shop and café building

A recruitment drive has been launched ahead of the opening of the new St Barnabas shop and café in Spalding

Lincoln, 13th June 2017 – St Barnabas Hospice, who is working on an exciting new project to open their new shop and café this summer, is looking to tap into the county’s pool of retail expertise to fill volunteer retail assistant posts.

The charity is currently recruiting a manager for the new flagship store in the south of the county, and is now aiming to draw upon local volunteers to add to the retail team.

Caroline Peach, Retail Manager for St Barnabas Hospice, said:

“We’re looking for people who already have relevant experience working in retail, or wish to gain new skills and meet people. It is an exciting opportunity to join a local charity and really make a difference in the community.

“This is an exciting venture, which offers new recruits the chance to work at the heart of their community in a fast-growing company.”

The new shop will take residence within the Grade II listed building in the Market Place, that was formerly home to The White Hart Hotel. Spread across 2,000 sq ft, the shop will stock a mix of fashion, including vintage and retro pieces. There will also be plenty of books, music and household items available to purchase, as well as handbags, accessories and gift ideas.

As a retail assistant volunteer, you will provide quality customer service to members of the public who purchase from and donate to the St Barnabas shops, as well as supporting the retail department in raising funds to help the work of the Hospice.

For further details about these retail vacancies, please contact Caroline Peach at [email protected] or on 01522 559 517.
