Senior Physiotherapist (Community Services – South East)

We have a vacancy with flexible working hours options for a Physiotherapist for our developing services. This is an exciting opportunity for an autonomous, highly motivated, and dynamic Physiotherapist to work within St Barnabas Community Services in the South East of Lincolnshire. You will work within a supportive Multi-Disciplinary Team, delivering Palliative Rehabilitation to patients with a range of complex symptom management needs. You will have a vital role in supporting our patients to achieve their goals, and support symptom management. You will work holistically, bringing knowledge from a broad base of experience and skills.

The successful candidates will have strong empathy, communication, and inter-personal skills, with an ability to work well with the MDT team. You will work autonomously and therefore need effective management to handle an ever-changing level of patient need and monitor your own complex case load. There are opportunities to work with palliative patients with a range of conditions, one to one and in groups, both at home and in the wellbeing, hub opening soon, also drive the service at the In-Patient Unit. As we start to re-open the wellbeing hubs, offering face to face appointments, you will have the opportunity to take a key role in helping to shape the current and future services that we offer.

We are a growing and evolving team, exploring the service and skills we offer, extending links to other teams with plans to integrate working further. Working flexibly to the service needs is essential due to the geographical areas we cover and people we support. Previous palliative care experience is desirable but not essential, and we welcome applications from those willing to develop in this rewarding field of care.  

You will need:

  • Degree (BSc/MSc) in Physiotherapy
  • Recent post-registration experience in a relevant area, i.e. Acute Medicine, Orthopaedics, Respiratory, Neurology, Oncology, Palliative Care or Community Therapies.
  • Current registration with the Health Care Professional Council
  • Business car insurance and have access to a car/ your own transport

You will be:

  • Able to develop Palliative Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Practice in line with current and appropriate Evidence Base.
  • Able to perform the role with empathy and consideration for the needs of a range of patients and their families.
  • Able to adapt effectively to varying levels of demand and to support less experienced staff to maintain high levels of care.
  • Evidence use of outcome measures and goal setting with patients in line with evidence base
  • Able to confidently demonstrate risk assessments and support complex moving and handling
  • Demonstrating specialist knowledge and application of therapy assessments and interventions
  • Supporting the health and support rehab workers competencies and ongoing joint working
  • Working autonomously and managing your own caseloads, and supporting the wider MDT

Starting Salary:

£33,080 – 40,080 pro rata (depending on experience)
