Wing Walk (August)

8th August 2021Wickenby Airfield
Watery Lane

Event time: 1pmParticipation cost: From £75

By working alongside The Wing Walk Company, we are able to deliver this fearsome yet exhilarating opportunity of a lifetime! Make 2021 the year where you tick wing walking off your bucket list and take on a challenge for St Barnabas Hospice.

Who can wing walk?

  • You must be aged between 18 and 80.
  • The maximum weight is 85kgs (13st 4lb). On the day of your flight you will not be able to take part if you exceed this limit and there will be a £200 re-booking fee which would be payable by the individual signed up, not St Barnabas Hospice.
  • You will be required to sign a declaration of fitness at the briefing.

If you suffer from high blood pressure, epilepsy, fainting, blackouts, dizziness, heart or lung disease you cannot participate. If your medical condition is being managed, you may be able to participate and should discuss this with your GP/Consultant and provide proof of this before you fly.

What does it cost?

  • £850. Of this, £390 pays for your wing walk costs.
  • The remaining  minimum £460 sponsorship will go directly to patient care and support.
By way of example, every £14.02 raised will enable us to provide one hour of specialist at-home care to a patient living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
  • You may choose to cover the £390 wing walk costs yourself. Meaning 100% of your  £460 minimum sponsorship target will go directly to support our hospice care.

How will your support help us?

Your sponsorship money will make a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire who are living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. You will be helping to ensure that St Barnabas Hospice can care for more patients and families in Lincolnshire, every day of the year.

By way of example, every £14.02 raised will enable us to provide one hour of specialist at-home care to a patient living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.

Coronavirus guidance

The safety and the well-being of our supporters and staff is our main priority, therefore we have reviewed relevant guidelines to enhance our Health & Safety Policy, ensuring it mitigates the risk of COVID-19. We ask you to read the guidelines carefully, which will be sent to you upon sign up.
