Dragonflies: Twilight Tours (18th September 2020)
We invite you to join us at one of our exclusive Twilight Tours to see the display and the grounds of Doddington Hall as the sun sets.
Each twilight session features a special lit walking tour around the Doddington gardens where you will hear the tale of the Dragonfly.
As the sun sets, the display of 1000 ironwork Dragonflies will be lit to bring Doddington’s exquisite garden, and Dragonfly pond to life.
The evening tour hosted by a member of the St Barnabas Hospice team will take you through a short walk of the gardens. Whilst you wander, you will learn the poignancy of the Dragonfly to the Hospice, and why it was chosen as this year’s display.
The tour will conclude at the Croquet lawn, where you will be able to enjoy the full display and take a moment to remember your loved ones. Our Bereavement counsellors will also be offering support if you need a listening ear. The display will be complimented by live music and interactive Lilypad’s, describing the journey of that a pond skater takes to become a beautiful Dragonfly.
A special thanks to Doddington Hall, Lincoln College and the Waterside Shopping Centre for there continued support to make this integral part of the Dragonfly appeal happen, despite Covid-19. Each Dragonfly has been lovingly handmade in memory of someone, and we are delighted that this display, which was initially intended for April could be rearranged.
