TREC Equestrian Challenge
TREC is a three-phase event that tests the obedience and training of the horse, along with the riding skill, knowledge and trail sense of the rider.
TREC has its roots in France as a way to test equestrian trail guides but is a sport that is rapidly gaining popularity worldwide.
Full TREC competitions combine elements of orienteering, obstacles and controlling gaits to earn points across all three phases. Our training session and competition will focus on the obstacles and control of gaits.
All obstacles are optional so come and put your pony through its paces, there will be food and drink available too. Let’s make a day of it!
The tickets for the challenge are £10 – you just need to pledge to raise at least £40 for the Hospice.
TREC training starts at 9am. The training is open to the first twenty competitors that sign up. Each training session is worth £40, but is free for our first twenty TREC competitors!
The competition starts at 1:30pm. The day will finish with the all-important results and prize giving.
