Mount Toubkal Trek
Conquer North Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Toubkal in aid of St Barnabas Hospice and celebrate our 40th birthday in style!
For pure mountain air that cuts through the heat and leaves you giddy, don’t miss the highest mountain in North Africa: Jebel Toubkal at 4167m, situated in the heart of the Toubkal National Park. Mount Toubkal has captivated mountaineers for centuries.
Your ascent up the rocky giant of North Africa is no picnic, but is accessible to anyone in good shape and hungry for a thrilling mountain adventure. From the bustling Marrakech you will venture into the heart of the High Atlas through traditional Berber communities which line the route. You’ll have plenty of time to learn their customs through village visits and overnight stays in the villages & camps with hearty home-cooked meals. The views on the way up are spectacular, but nothing compares to what you’ll see (and feel) at the top. From the summit of Toubkal you will experience stunning 360-degree panoramic views which extend across the rocky Atlas ranges and southwards to Jebel Sahro and the Sahara Desert.
How much does it cost?
The registration fee is £99, then you just need to raise £1650 for St Barnabas – we’ll pay for your experience.
Please note: If you are setting up a JustGiving page as part of your fundraising, there may be compatibility issues with Internet Explorer. Using another browser should work fine.
How long will it take?
The trek will take approximately 18 hours, but you will be travelling, exploring Morocco and making your way up the Mountain over 3 days. The entire experience, including flight days will be 5 days long. You will also have the option of extending your stay after the trek, should you want to experience more of Morocco and North Africa.
How will we support you?
Once you are registered, we will support you all the way up to and including the event itself. You will be provided with a discount card for local sports and outdoor gear outlets, sponsorship forms, fundraising posters and fundraising/training support, as well as a nine-week training guide. You will be personally supported by our Challenge Events Fundraiser Mike Pastor as well as the event organisers.
How will your support help us?
Your sponsorship money will make a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire who are living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. Your fundraising will help to ensure that St Barnabas Hospice can care for more patients and families near you, every day of the year.
