London to Paris Bike Ride
Join St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice on the trip of a lifetime!
Take your fundraising on a real adventure in 2018 and ride to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice!
Aydon Aspin took part in the London to Paris bike ride in June 2016 in aid of St Barnabas;
“My advice to anyone thinking of doing the organised, London 2 Paris route – Do it. The pace is easy, the terrain rolling [the views take your mind off the hills] the food stops have warm freshly cooked food and the arrival in Paris, down the Champs-Élysées, to the Eiffel tower is totally safe, escorted through the traffic by support vehicles – the memory of your achievement, for what you’ve done for St Barnabas will live with you forever.”
How much does it cost?
This once in a lifetime trip is completely free, all we ask is that you raise a minimum sponsorship of £1,600 which includes travel, accommodation, food and drink, mechanics, guides and medical support, 50% of this total goes directly towards hospice care across Lincolnshire.
How long will it take?
The ride will take 4 days, with the fifth day all yours to soak up the Parisian way of life, explore the city and visit the landmarks.
How will we support you?
We will support you all the way to the finish line with a number of ideas which will make raising the money a doddle! You will receive a fundraising pack containing sponsor forms, fundraising posters and a fundraising guide and we will also be here to offer any support and advice. You will also receive a St Barnabas Hospice technical cycling jersey to wear on the ride.
The event organisers Skyline will also provide you with all the information you will need including training guides, trip information, route maps, kit list, itineraries and more.
How will your support help us?
Your sponsorship money will make a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire who are living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. Your fundraising will help to ensure that St Barnabas Hospice can care for more patients and families near you, every day of the year.
Did you know that fundraised income pays for the care and support of half the people we see?
£5 pays for a three course meal for a patient receiving specialist care
£34 pays for a physiotherapy or occupational therapy session to maintain a patient’s independence
£50 pays for ten lightweight fleece blankets, giving added warmth and comfort to patients
£120 pays for a Hospice at Home nurse to care for a patient in their own home
