The Great North Run 2024 will take place on Sunday 8th September.

The Great North Run is the most iconic half marathon in the world and sees participants run from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to South Shields. Thousands of people of all running abilities take part in the annual event, and it is a great way to take on a challenge and raise money for St Barnabas! Find out more information about the Great North Run here: Great North Run – Half Marathon – Great Run

How much does it cost?

There is a registration fee of £50 and we ask you to pledge to raise £350 for St Barnabas Hospice.

In addition to your registration fee, £34 of the funds that you raise will cover your race fees and the remaining money will directly fund patient care and support across Lincolnshire.

How will we support you?

Once you are registered, we will support you every step of the way. Not only will you receive your own St Barnabas running tech top to wear on the day of the race, you will also be invited to join our “Challenge with St Barnabas” private Facebook group designed to build a community of supporters taking part in challenges in aid of the Hospice. This is your space to ask any questions, share hints and tips and those all-important training and race photos.

To get your fundraising off to a great start, your page will be set up automatically with your sign up. In your welcome email, we will send your further information, including fundraising tips on how to maximise and achieve fundraising goals.

How will your support help us?

Your sponsorship money will make a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire who are living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. Your fundraising will help to ensure that St Barnabas Hospice can care for more patients and families near you, every day of the year.

By way of example, every £19.93 raised will enable us to provide one hour of specialist at-home care to a patient living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
